The Brief
A home reimagined for light and access.
The client wanted to transform an established multi-level Mosman home into a refined, contemporary residence — lifting its architectural character while improving accessibility, flow and natural light throughout.
The scope ran inside and out: a full internal renovation of bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry and living spaces, paired with a considered landscape and a street presence that announced the home before you stepped through the door.

The Challenge
Building within what was already there.
A structural renovation asks more than a new build, every move has to work within and around the existing building. Threading a new lift from the garage up to the upper stories, opening interiors to cathedral ceilings and floor-to-ceiling glazing, and building a green roof over the garage all called for careful structural and waterproofing coordination, so the finished home feels effortless despite the complexity behind it.
What We Did
Scandinavian brick, cathedral light, a lift.
Working across design, construction and landscape as one team, we reworked the home from the street in:
- Structural renovation with artful design brickwork — Scandinavian brick giving the updated form real contemporary character
- A lift installed from the garage to the upper stories for accessibility and convenience
- Full internal renovation — bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry and living — with cathedral ceilings, floor-to-ceiling glass, a timber pivot entry door and natural timber stairs and flooring
- Landscape and arrival: a green roof over the garage, exposed aggregate driveway, natural stone clad dividing wall and custom metal balustrading, framed by mature plantings and curated garden beds for privacy
- Bold metal sun hoods to the upper story contrasting the brickwork, with a layered timber, stone and feature-lighting palette and expansive glazing capturing light all day
The Result
As striking as it is liveable.
The finished home is as functional as it is captivating. The lift makes every level accessible, expansive glazing fills the interiors with natural light, and a tactile palette of timber, stone and feature lighting gives each room warmth and depth. From the street, brickwork, natural stone and the green roof set a tone of refinement; inside, cathedral ceilings and seamless spatial flow make it a home built for both everyday living and architectural admiration.

Inside the project.
“
The Beaches Group provided a top quality extensive renovation for our house in Mosman. They were very communicative throughout the process which helped to engage us in the build. The project threw up many complex challenges which the Beaches Group did not shy away from and worked extremely hard to navigate through to end up with the best result possible. They were very adaptable throughout the build to deliver to our needs and the needs of the site. The final product is of high quality and we are very thankful to the Beaches Group for taking on and delivering what is a very successful build.
