Teak Deck & Pool

The Brief

A coastal home, inside and out.

The owners wanted a coastal home transformed — a renovation that combined real functionality with refined aesthetics, lifting both the outdoor living and the interior to a single, considered standard.

Outside, the focus was a durable, beautiful outdoor living area and a renewed pool; inside, a lighter, more open home with the kind of detail that rewards a second look.

The Challenge

Built for the coast, built to last.

A coastal setting is demanding on materials, so every choice had to earn its place — teak was selected for the decking precisely for its natural resistance to weather and moisture, as well as its warmth. The new deck, the pool refurbishment and the carpentry trims all had to resolve into one cohesive outdoor space, while inside the challenge was to draw in natural light and build in clever, understated detail without losing the calm coastal feel.

What We Did

Teak, a renewed pool and clever light.

Working across design, construction and landscape as one team, we renewed the home inside and out:

• Installed new teak decking to the outdoor living area — luxurious and durable, with teak’s natural weather and moisture resistance ideal for the coastal environment and warm tones lifting the look
• Completely refurbished the pool, with complementary carpentry trimming to the new decking for a cohesive outdoor space
• Renovated interiors with a sophisticated coved ceiling and highlight windows that flood the home with natural light for an airy, open feel
• Built in strategically placed niches for decorative display and functional storage
• Clad the exterior in timber battens — a balance of modern and natural that integrates seamlessly with the coastal surroundings

The Result

Comfort, style and durability.

The comprehensive renovation delivers comfort, style and durability in equal measure. The teak deck and refurbished pool create a cohesive, resort-like outdoor space built to last in a coastal climate, while inside the coved ceiling, highlight windows and considered niches make the home feel light, open and quietly luxurious — a beautifully updated coastal residence throughout.
