Clifftop Coastal Retreat

The Brief

A home built around the view.

Perched on the picturesque hillside of Palm Beach, this coastal home had one thing above all going for it — the outlook. The brief was to transform it into a luxurious retreat, thoughtfully designed to complement its breathtaking ocean views.

That meant reimagining the outdoor living to take in the scenery, and refreshing the interiors with a natural, timeless palette so the whole home felt as serene as its setting.

The Challenge

A deck worthy of the outlook.

Making the most of an elevated, view-driven site is as much about the deck as the house. The rebuilt deck had to be built to a premium, yacht-grade standard that could stand up to coastal exposure and still feel like luxury underfoot — and it needed to work year-round, not just on perfect days. Inside, bathrooms, laundry, joinery and flooring all had to be renewed around one cohesive natural-luxury palette.

What We Did

A yacht-grade deck and natural stone.

Working across design, construction and landscape as one team, we reworked the home around its outlook:

• Rebuilt the deck as the highlight — premium caulked teak decking that replicates the look of luxury yachts
• Equipped the deck with outdoor heaters and fans for year-round comfort and effortless entertaining, all while basking in the coastal scenery
• Renovated the bathrooms and laundry with stunning natural stone finishes, blending timeless beauty with modern functionality
• Updated the joinery throughout and specified furniture to add warmth and comfort
• Updated the flooring in shared spaces to enhance the home’s natural charm

The Result

Stylish, serene, year-round.

The renovation harmonises natural luxury with coastal living — a home that’s as stylish as it is serene. The yacht-grade teak deck turns the ocean view into the heart of the home and makes it usable in any season, while natural stone, updated joinery and new flooring give the interiors a calm, timeless quality throughout.
