The brief was focused: transform the area around the pool at this cliffside home into a lush and elegant retreat, with a garden that suited the exposed coastal setting and looked good all year round.

The Challenge

Cliffside coastal gardens are demanding — planting has to be as tough as it is beautiful. The new planter boxes needed to complement the pool’s design and offer enough depth for a varied, layered garden, while every plant had to be chosen to thrive in the salt and exposure without losing colour or interest across the seasons.

What We Did

A yacht-grade deck and natural stone.

Designing and planting the garden as one team, we reworked the poolside:

• Installed rendered planter boxes for a modern touch and ample planting space, strategically placed to complement the pool’s design
• Filled them with a mix of vibrant flowers, hardy succulents and native shrubs for year-round colour and interest
• Selected every plant for its ability to thrive in the coastal environment, adding both beauty and resilience to the garden
