Classic Hamptons Home

The Brief

A classic home, honoured and renewed.

The owners set a Hamptons-style brief for their classic coastal home — extensive aesthetic enhancements inside and out that would lift the home while respecting the original architecture and its historical charm.

Just as importantly, the landscape and outdoor living needed to be reworked to make the most of the home’s elevated Bayview setting and district views.

The Challenge

Modernising without losing the character.

Modernising a classic home without losing what makes it special is a fine balance. New timber work had to blend seamlessly with the house’s original design, colonial windows and doors were chosen specifically to maintain the historical charm, and the interiors had to feel bright and airy while still complementing the classic architecture. Outside, the garden and new deck needed to sit naturally with the home and open it up to the views.

What We Did

Timber detail, colonial charm, a deck.

Working across design, construction and landscape as one team, we renewed the home inside and out:

• Carried out extensive aesthetic enhancements to the Hamptons-style brief, using modern materials with new highly detailed timber work that blends seamlessly with the home’s original design
• Refreshed the interior spaces to create a bright, airy atmosphere that complements the classic architecture
• Installed colonial windows and doors to maintain the home’s historical charm
• Redesigned the landscape with lush, manicured gardens for a harmonious transition from the home to its natural surroundings
• Expanded and modernised the outdoor living with a spacious new deck, perfect for enjoying the district views

The Result

Classic character, district views.

The renovation elevates the home’s aesthetic appeal while adding genuinely functional spaces for relaxation and entertainment. Detailed timber work and colonial joinery keep the classic character intact, the interiors feel light and modern, and the manicured gardens and new district-view deck complete a cohesive Hamptons transformation that suits its coastal setting perfectly.
