Tropical Pool Retreat

The Brief

A coastal home turned private retreat.

The owners wanted to transform an established coastal home into a refined yet relaxed retreat, a residence that paired modern sophistication with tropical charm, and turned the outdoors into a private oasis for living and entertaining year-round.

The renovation ran from the pool and garden through to the interiors, with the finished home to feel cohesive, elegant and effortlessly liveable.

The Challenge

Making the pool the heart of it.

The centrepiece — a revitalised wet-edge pool — had to read as if it had always belonged, integrating seamlessly with tropical landscaping and expertly crafted stone garden walls to create a genuine sense of retreat. Beyond it, the pergola needed to work in every season against harsh coastal weather, and the interiors had to be brought together into one calm, light-filled coastal palette. Every element was executed to the highest standard so the result would stand the test of time.

What We Did

A wet-edge pool and a tropical oasis.

Working across design, construction and landscape as one team, we reworked the home inside and out:

• Revitalised the pool as the centrepiece — a luxurious wet-edge design that integrates seamlessly with serene tropical landscaping
• Created a private oasis with lush greenery and expertly crafted stone garden walls
• Fitted the pergola for comfort and entertainment with heaters and fans, protecting it against harsh weather
• Renovated the interior for timeless coastal elegance — updated oak flooring and crisp white walls that reflect the natural light
• Updated the kitchen with a sleek splashback, durable benchtop, modern fixtures and elegant floating shelves
• Added bespoke window furnishings for understated luxury, framing the home’s picturesque surroundings

The Result

Resort living, at home.

The transformation delivers a flawless blend of style, comfort and quality. The wet-edge pool and stone-walled tropical garden create a private resort-like retreat, the pergola makes it usable in any season, and inside the oak flooring, crisp white walls and considered finishes give the home a timeless coastal elegance — every detail executed to a standard built to last.
