What is concrete cancer, and can it be fixed?

Concrete cancer (concrete spalling) is when steel reinforcement inside concrete rusts, expands and cracks the concrete apart. Left alone it accelerates. It can absolutely be fixed — but only by treating the steel and the cause, not just patching the surface. See our dedicated Concrete Cancer page.
